Step inside and discover laidback indulgence in an ancient castle, surrounded by rolling hills and century-old vineyards
Valentina Benci Piccioni welcomes you to the enchanting Castello di Cafaggio, where the treasures of her blended families can be found. Her father Piero Piccioni, pianist and composer of over 300 soundtracks for the renowned Italian cinema from the 1950’s and her stepfather Enrico Benci with whom she grew up, were in fact linked by a deep friendship and mutual esteem.
The castle library contains Benci family antique books and papers that one can admire, including a dedicated photo and a letter from family friend and frequent castles guest Giacomo Puccini to great grandfather Ugo Benci. Over the last few years, all of Piero Piccioni’s handwritten musical production has been added and is available to scholars and musicians. Valentina, musicologist and singer has ensured the digitization of these works and begun organizing conferences and concerts with important scholars and musicians dedicated to her father in the magical setting of Castle Cafaggio.
